Business Databases

Use your MyJSC ID to login to these databases from off-campus.

  • Business Insights: Essentials  
      
      Icon
    Research and compare companies or industries using industry rankings, company profiles, market share data, investment reports, charts, graphs, and association profiles. Reference sources include Market Share Reporter, Business Rankings Annual, Encyclopedia of American Industries and more.
  • Business Source Premier  
      
      Icon
    Thousands of case studies, market research reports, trade publications and journals are mounted on this database. Experiment with terms and phrases such as women consumers, market segmentation, brand name products, demographic surveys, marketing and psychological aspects.
  • LexisNexis Academic

    Search by company name or ticker symbol. Hoover Company Records include an overview, financials, current news, industry classification and competitors.
 

Access to Databases

Note: Off-campus access to article databases is available only for registered students, faculty and staff with a MyJSC login ID and password. Visitors to the library may use our public computers for access to the Internet and our subscription databases. 

Interlibrary Loan

If you locate an article citation in a database, but the full text is not available online, you may place a request through interlibrary loan.  Most databases offer a link to an interlibrary loan form.

    Several of our databases offer searching by industrial codes.  The North American Industry Classification System was developed in 1997, has been revised every five years and replaced the original Standard Industrial Classification code.  The 2012 NAICS is now available with cross references between the different editions. The print edition is located at the Reference Desk at [REF DESK]338.01/N811/2012.

     

    Find Journals

    Use the Find Journals page  to locate titles that are in full text in our databases, in print in our library collection,  or that are freely available through open access on the Web.  Search by known title, i.e. Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Sales & Marketing Management or select from the drop down menu to enter keywords in titles.

    Another option is to browse by the subjects Business , Advertising, Finance, Management, and Marketing for hundreds of titles in full text. 

    A select list of magazines, newspapers, scholarly journals and trade periodicals includes:
